Foot Trails

On view March 2 - June 29, 2023

K Art is pleased to announce Foot Trails, opening from March 2nd to June 29th, 2023. The spring exhibition will highlight works by Luzene Hill, Erin Ggaadimits Ivalu Gingrich, Robyn Tsinnajinnie, Renelle White Buffalo, and Vanessa Dion Fletcher. Each artist varies from late to early career and investigates and reflects on the paths carved before them by previous generations, whether familial or cultural. From this research and the stories passed down, they’ve developed and created representational and abstract depictions to establish personal relationships between the past and the modern. All artists come from diverse American and Canadian origins.

Foot Trails is a survey exhibition examining artists indigenous from all parts of North America. The influence of storytelling and research from previous generations, whether specific people, cultures, or concepts, drives these artists to forge novel paths of growth and reflection. Generational knowledge and community bonding continue to carve new ways of thinking and artmaking between artists at different stages.
